Our last week in Lesotho the National University of Lesotho asked us to run our workshop five times. During that week we met with many community leaders and realized that the knowledge of how Internet resources and collaboration are transforming this generation of African youth had to be told. That they old ideas of poverty, colonialism, isolation and denial of access or resources are being shattered.
Today youth organizations such Organization of African Youth in Cameroon are running our youth workshop for us and posting videos
The second phase of our four country tour of workshops will address the whole commmunity: educators, ministry, small business and community leaders. These groups will have separate workshops on how they can leverage the internet for freedom and growth.
Although this community is small in membership it is watched and blogged by over a thousand individuals and organizations on Linkedin and other communities. When we launch the CyberDay Workshops we look forward to partnerships with them in the on-the-ground events.
We are already in dialogs with a number of African and international NGOs on how we can partner with them to fund and deploy these CyberDay workshops. We are looking for interested funding partners.
This is the proposal we have with our partner SA Media Alliance in Lesotho. We can customize the workshops to team up with other partners such as Telco of educational foundation. We honor UNESCO Power of Peace Network for seeding us with the funding to get started.
